Marisa Montecalvo, MD
Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College
Marisa Montecalvo did her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Post graduate training was at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center for Internal Medicine residency, Cambridge Hospital as a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and then Boston University for an Infectious Diseases fellowship. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
She is Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine of the New York Medical College. She has been at NYMC since 1990, serving as an attending physician in Infectious Diseases at Westchester Medical Center. At Westchester Medical Center she served as the first Hospital Epidemiologist from 1999- 2014. After leaving the position of hospital epidemiologist, she became Director of Health Services at NYMC and Deputy Commissioner for Community Health at the Westchester County Department of Health.
Dr. Montecalvo’s funded research centered around hospital acquired infections, in particular vancomycin resistant enterococci and Clostridium difficile. She has several publications in the areas of hospital acquired infections, and most recently SARS-CoV-2.
